Under Orion we stayed the night near the mountain though the bitter cold and dew and together we were captivated by each other like children and startled by strange sounds of night and lights then the bright brilliance of Venus in her glory held silent suspended in that crisp edged air like a jewel and we smiled and imagined meteors rushing in or distant galactic supernovas exploding for us alone and we felt the purity of the magic of this cosmic dream as the waking birds knew to tell the Sun to break the blackness of that wondrous night
